Setup questions

I just recieved and installed the Hauppauge PVR-150 and have a question which tuning plugin to select with the STVSBR bundle.

The options are:

DirecTV Serial control
ACTiSYS IR200L
USB-UIRT Transceiver

I am stuck here till I can figure it out.

You have use the Hauppauge IR blaster config utility to configure the 150's blaster before running SageTV. Once it is configured, the IR program is running, and SageTV is restarted, there should be an option to choose the Hauppauge blaster on the tuning plugin screen.

I opened the CD that came with the card and clicked on setup.

Nothing seemed to happen so I let the hardware wizzard configure the card using the driver it found on the disk.

As far as the blaster, What is the file name on the disk that configures it?

Ok I was able to get the IR blaster setup open and it works the cable box fine from the setup with the mouse, but the remote does nothing.

I read in the install giude that IR.exe should start at boot and a icon should be in the system tray. I checked in the processes and it is not running. I try to run it and there is some error and it does not start.

I guess I must have not gone through the install process correctly to be having these problems.

I am used to having an install disk auto start and guide you through the correct process.

Having to find the proper files and install them only leads to problems.


What is the correct process for installing the software?

All help is appriciated.

I went back and attempted another try at the setup file on the disk and it seem to work this time. All the programs installed and the remote is now working.

Not sure what happened the first time, but I think everything is working now.

For your future reference, there is at least 1 entry in the forum's FAQs that talks about getting the Hauppauge remote working... among other things, you'll need to install the IR software before installing SageTV, or else you'll have to manually install/configure the remote's config file.
