Okay, I finally got around to installing my trusty old PV256T (I have 2 of them) and sage TV on my HTPC. It's a P4C800E Dlx, P4-3.0 800FSB, 1 GB DDR400, ATI 9500, 80GB Seagate SATA, etc, driving a Hitachi 61SWX10B via a transcoder at 1080i... I installed the Provideo 2.17 drivers and app, and then sage. Well, I got it all up and running, but no matter what I did, Sage was using ANT tuning instead of Cable... if I set sage on Ch14, I got snow.... went into the ProVideo app and tuned to Ch14 and got cable Ch14... went back to sage and it was showing Ch14... changed to Ch 15, got snow, Ch 14, got snow... okay stick to Ch 8 for now. Looked at Live TV full screen.... YUCK !!! Downloaded Pareditor and set it for DVD... saved CURRENT.PAR to c:/Windows/Parameters.... restarted sage and the machine rebooted. Hmmmm.... bad news, since I had Sage set to autostart and it rebooted every time it booted!! Did a last known good and then a system restore to before Sage. Reinstalled the drivers, the app and Sage.... gee... now cable works correctly! But I won't be trying pareditor anymore till someone tells me what I did wrong...
![]() Things I've noticed: 1) Sage will not see the card with the latest 2.18 drivers installed ![]() 2) The sound, during play of live TV seems high pitched, as if everyone's voice has been upsampled !!! ![]() 3) The Provideo app must be installed or Sage complains that it cannot find the audio mpeg encoder. Can anyone help me out? ![]() Jim

If I recall, holding the 'shift' key down when windows starts will bypass anything in the Startup folder (and maybe in the registry's start entry).. This of corse doesn't help you now, but just a tip I picked up somewhere..

Well, I'm still here.... I tried to select the default recording quality on the multimedia page of the detailed setup, and the drop down list is blank ! I checked the sage.properties file, and the default is set to Great, but if I look at the System Information page it says the default quality is null !! I un-installed, erased the complete file structure from ProgramFiles and re-installed. Same thing.... can't select quality as above.... AND, the problem with the tuning not getting anything above Ch13 is back.... everything says it is set for cable input, but it seems to be tuning air channels. The PV256 Provideo app tunes the cable channels fine....
![]() HELP !!!
