Sage channel mapping issues with HDhomerun?
I have a pair of Hauppauge PVR-250 cards for analog cable and I bought a new HDHomerun tuner for QAM/ATSC. My cable company in Cleveland is WOW.
I initially setup the HDhomerun with both tuners for QAM on cable and I manually mapped everything fine. All my analog channels went from 2 through 84, and my digital QAM channels started at like 100 and above. Well now, I decided to make one of the HD tuners ATSC since I live close to my broadcast towers. I let it scan per HDhomerun Sage instructions and found several channels, some of which are listed in the same (low) numbers as my analog cable TV, like channels 10, 15, 28 and 31. Well, only ATSC channel 15 shows up right next to my "other" cable channel 15, but of course its a completely different network altogether. Cool, I like that. But my other channels 10, 28 and 31 don't show up at all in the channel lineup whatsoever. What do I do? Robert |

Do the call letters for the missing channels match existing channel call letters in another lineup? If so, then they will coexist on the same channel as the previous lineup. I'm not sure if this is making sense but it should be working ok.

Yes, they do match the same name. The one that didn't was a weather channel, so I suppose that's why it showed up. How can I make them different? Because when I choose the channel, I want to know which tuner its' using.

I don't know of a way to make them different. You can tell which tuner it is using by viewing the recording details or view the recording schedule. It should use the first tuner available based on encoder merit if there are any set otherwise they will have the same weight and Sage will use the tuners as it sees fit.
The only way to make them different would be to choose a different lineup that has different call signs but happens to have the same exact shows as the channel you need. I personally like the way Sage handles this and consider it a feature. I was kind of confused at first but I realized I really like it this way. |

The quality and reliability (because of an antenna) of my cable QAM vs OTA ATSC can be quite different, so I would prefer to have them listed as seperate channels in my lineup. It would be nice to know if I'm going to record on station WXYZ on the antenna vs cable. Is there no way to overcome this limitation?
