HELP!!!

I can't seem to figure out how to fix a padding issue:

The first ~5min of many of my recordings are being clipped.

I first attempted to change the settings for this STVI to use NO padding. I then re-imported the STV to remove the padding STVI altogether. I also checked every favorite to make sure that they were configured to have 0 min of pre or post padding.

My wife is getting pretty annoyed by now. Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can resolve this (and get things back to the way that they were)?

I moved your post out of the default padding discussion, because I don't believe it is a padding issue.

What recording quality are you using? Try one of the other recording qualities, especially if you are using one of the lower qualities currently.

Also, try setting this property:
seeker/fast_mux_switch=false

I think this maybe related to a problem ive been having that is been discussed in this thread in the beta forum

http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21783

i am using dvb-t and noticed that when scrolling through channels to check they all tuned correctly some channels reported no signal, i could then restart sage and the channels would tune fine but a different selection of channels would display no signal, again a restart would fix these, i then had a complete system crash and have built a new sage server using a terratec dual tuner dvb-t and a hauppague nova-t usb2. all tuners still suffer the same problem, which is definatley not signal related but what i have noticed is that if i leave the channels that won't tune recording they always seem to pick a signal up around the 5 minute mark, and so would relate to you are missing the first five minutes of a recording. i am now recording with 5 minutes padding before in case the channel won't tune.

I was using SVCD, but now will switch to GOOD quality. I'll make that property change after Dirty Jobs finishes .

Thanks for moving my post...I was beginning to tick myself off thinking that I screwed up a working system. Glad (and sorry) to hear that I am not alone.

I figured you would be using that recording quality -- I think the property change usually helps w/that quality, but changing the recording quality might be the best way to go.

Out of curiosity,

What settings are suspect? Is it just SVCD?

I imagine we'll see a bug fix for this in the future...

Thanks for the help, it does seem to be working well. I probably was slummin' it with SVCD anyway. I deserve better.
