Two Questions. H.264 and Tag Parsing
Hi Everyone,
First question. Up until now I have been using Auto GK to encode certain movies to XVID. I want to move to a newer MPEG4 codec. I may be mistaken here, but I believe H.264 and Nero AVC are basically the same thing. If I understand this correctly they are simply two different types of MPEG 4 codecs. H.264 is free and Nero's AVC you have to purchase nero.
In either case. I am not proficient enough in this area to due this manually. Also, I still have a lot of films to convert yet which is why I like Auto GK so much. Currently Auto GK does not support H.264 that I am aware. So I have decided to try and ue Nero's AVC. I used the program without problems. However, the final video appears to be a little hazy. It also appears to do some minor smearing with fast movement. My current XVID encodes do not do this.
When using Nero, I choose the Cinema HD setting and DD5.1. For an average 1.5 hour movie, my file output is 1.4 GB. Could this be a Codec issue. IE the codecs installed on my client machine? Am I doing something wrong? Is this normal for an AVC encode.
Second Question. I see that sage supports Tag parsing. I was wondering if it supports it for Video and Music and if someone could recommend a program to let me add tags. Since I have done almost all of my own video encoding. None of my files have tags. I would like to change that.
Thanks for any help anyone can give me.
