Question Use SageTV on a TIVO Series 2 BOX? Plausible?

HI
I have a series 2 Humax DRT-800 Tivo box. I was woundering if their was a way to replace the OS of the tivo box with a different distribution and run sage tv DVR software.

I may be possible but the hardware will be the most troublesome since it is not a true PC. I have not read of anybody attempting this so there is no information to pull from.

Tivo mods like this have been looked into for various things and the short answer is - no it's not gonna happen.

The longer answer...

If you feel compelled to look further into it I'd head over to a tivo forum. The Linux os used on tivo can be dowloaded from the web, but trying to get your hands on the drivers they use for their hardware - that's another story. Tivo also does not run on an x86 cpu, so you'll also have to ask SageTV to recompile SageTV for the cpu you need it to run on for tivo (this is the point where they start laughing at you and you give up)

Thanks alot is their a certain post where the information is located/catagory at tivo.

If i find anyway to get started i will post the instructions in detail on this post. If anyone has any information to help me along please feel free to post a link i will keep an eye on you posts.
