Does Sage "Forget" Watched Shows?

I've had the same wiz.bin for about a year and a half. I notice that lately shows I've watched (and marked as such) over a year ago are being re-recorded by the IR function. The shows are being re-recorded from the same channel as I originally recorded them from (History Channel, Discovery Channel.)

I have not marked these shows as a favorite and I have not set up a manual recording. IR is doing it on its own.

Does Sage at some point clear the Watched status or does IR ignor the Watched status after a certain amount of time?

No I don't believe Sage "forgets" watched status after time (I think it would be a nice feature to add though ).

However I have seen IR pick up stuff that meets most of my favorite criteria but isn't actually a favorite. For me, I remember seeing it pick up reruns of Favorites I hand configured as first runs only.

See this FAQ and there is a "Detect repeat airings with non-unique IDs" that might help in Detailed Setup -> Customize.

Of course, if they don't have the same show ID for some reason, the shows won't ever be seen as the same.

Andy,

I already have that set. This issue is not a real big deal but I'd like to prevent as many repeat recordings as possible.

What if I want to re-record?

Is there any way to set sage to re-record favorites that have been watched and deleted? Ideally this would be for some favorites only.

If you go to the favorites manager, select the favorite, and then click on advanced options you can clear or set the watched status for the favorite. I don't know of a way to have the favorite always clear the watched status automatically, but you can at least go in and clear it every now and then.
