How do I know if I'm displaying an HD image?

I have a server with 3 HD tuners and a client with XP pro, nvidia decoder, nvidia gt6600 running at 1024x768. Sagetv 6.19 is set to use the nvidia decoder, FSE is on, 3D is on.

When displaying a show that was recordered in HD, it display real nice, but how do I know if I'm getting the best picture I can?

It's also connect to a 50in plasma with HDMI.

Thanks for any info.

If you're asking what format the file got recorded in, open it up in Windows Media Player and look at the properties.

If you're asking what kind of signal is being sent from your graphics card to your monitor, you can probably get that info from either your Nvidia control panel or from your monitor's on-screen status display.

BTW: the recording's format should also be visible when viewing the Recording Detail screen in SageTV.
