Question Upgrade question: STV's & Imports

I just upgraded from v6.0.12 to v6.0.19, and have a question about the "logistics" of upgrading.

I imaged the PC just in case, copied the SageTV directory, closed all clients, and then stopped the service. I then ran the install application, and everything installed just fine. I re-started the services, and launched the client, and found that the STV had reverted to the "default" STV (as expected.)

So far, so good.

OK, now if I want to get back to the "customized condition" that I was in before the upgrade, do I need to re-import each and every import, or can I just re-load the latest STV that I had created?

Actually, I just re-loaded the STV, and everything seems to be working just fine, but are there any recommendations as far as how this should be done?

What are the benefits or disadvantages of re-loading all imports versus re-loading the STV?

Sage will normally revert back to SageTV3.xml on an update.

You could just reload your modded stv, buy you would not have any new stv improvements that Sage has added to SageTV3.xml. IF you want the new stv improvements, you will need to re-import all your imports into the new stv.

Generally you want to re-import in order to get the benefits of any recent changes to the standard STV.

There's an STVI Importer plugin that helps you re-import a number of STVIs in one go after an upgrade.
