Changing channel number

I can't understand why I can't change the order of my channels in Sagetv.

I've read about it in the forums, and i could see that in America you're just accustomed with the channels having the same number as their corresponding frequency. This is not the case here in Europe though.

Do i really need to spend hours with Freqshifter, and messing with my Registry, when my 10 year old TV can do it in 10 minutes ? This seems illogical to me... Can Sagetv really not do this ?

Regards

What version of SageTV are you running? Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but have you checked the channel remapping options in Channel Setup for v6?

I'm running the latest version of Sagetv.

I thought Remapping the channels meant changing the frequenzies as well ?
What I'd like is to be able to tell Sagetv to use a lineup like this:

Channel 1 (on my remote) = Channel 44 (Which is on Frequenze 73.167)
Channel 2 (on my remote) = Channel 66 (Which is on Frequenze 75.837)

Unless someone else around here knows how to suggest mapping the channels in Europe, support would be a good place to try.

I've had hard time with remapping channels too.

If remapping channels to different logical channels does not work (this is new feature and I've not tried this with analog tuner), the freqshifter is the way to go. Hey, at least it does work and you have to do it only once!
