Music playback issues.

I recently purchased sage. Things are shaping up pretty well so far. I'm still in the process of tweaking everything to run just right.

The biggest issue i'm having right now is that most of my mp3s wont play.

Whenever i try play them a playback exception error comes up saying it was unable to load the video codec.

Right now my system is

vista business
sage 6.0.18
amd opteron 165 (dual core)
asus a8r-mvp
audigy 2
ati 1900xt


These are all files that play perfectly in any other media player type program. I have tried many different settings including turning everything to default, and also the ac3, and nvidia codecs.

I purchased sage because it seemed like it would make a great all in one media center front end. But not being able to play the majority of my music is seriously making me regret the purchase.

I also have some issues with tearing / stuttering of hd content but with how things are gong right now i'm almost thinking a good part of the stuttering atleast is from my poor antenna.


Any suggestions on how I can get all my music to play though sage would be greatly appreciated.

What format is your music in?

Seems like so far i'm having problems with 128k, 192k and 320k mp3s that i've noticed so far.

Yet, I have a very limited number of mp3s that will play, and it looks like wma may play.

I just installed the placeshifter on my intel mac laptop tonight.

It seems like all the music files play fine over that. Yet playing off the main computer that they are stored on most wont play.
