1080i is smooth but 1080p stutters?
1080i HD programs play smoothly, either live or recorded. However, when I used the new convert feature to transcode the recorded program to 1080p (MPEG4 HDTV Deinterlaced High Quality), the resulting file stutters when played. This stuttering happens whether it's played inside of SageTV or in WMP. CPU utlization is no where near max and hovers around 55-60%. Could it be some kind of issue with transcoder? Has anyone experienced something like this before?

Small update: I tried different format settings (Ipod, PSP, DVD, HDTV interlaced, HDTV deinterlaced), they all stutter. I don't think it's my computer, as I can play Divx and Xvid 720p and 1080p movie trailers smoothly. Am I the only one having this problem?

To add further, I used StaxRip to convert a recorded 1080i to Xvid, and the resulting file plays smoothly. Definitely seems like something wrong with SageTV's transcoder. Can anyone with a HD tuner confirm this please?

If anyone has a HD tuner, I'd appreciate it if you could try it out to see if you have the same experience. You just have to convert the first 30 sec or so and see if there is any stuttering, which takes just a few minutes. Thanks in advance
