HD 5.1 OTA help

I have OTA HD setup using an AverMediaTV HD180 card. Works great have all my studdering problems fixed. Anyway I notice that when I watch HD it is very quiet compared to the standard def stuff. So I started playing around and what I figured was that it is because it's supposed to be 5.1 but for some reason it is just playing stereo thus the low volume. I use SPDIF to my receiver. Currently I have PowerDVD as my audio renderer and it is a little louder but I don't think it playing in 5.1. Anyone have any ideas what I'm missing..

Thanks
Mike

It took me awhile to get the audio sorted out when I was setting my rig up. For me, I had to make sure the Audio Renderer and the Audio Decoder were both set to SPDIF pass-through. My audio card's application had a specific setting for this.

You also need to check and make sure PowerDVD is actually being used, I think you have to go into Media player->DVD->Advanced, Go to the last tab and set "Prefer Other Decoder" (Thanks Polypro)

Hopefully that helps.
