Live TV file splitting freezes

I realize that Sage splits the live TV files when the show changes, but my issue is that it is very sloppy...

I'm running 2 Fusion 5 ATSC tuners on Sage 6, with a Pentium D 3.2 GHz machine, 1 GB RAM, 400 GB SATA media drive with 64K clusters, and a NVidia 7600GT video with PureVideo decoders, so I don't believe it's a lack of horsepower.

Picture and audio will freeze for a minimum of 2 seconds, many times up to 5 or more. When it resumes, many times it studders or hesitates several times before it "catches up".

It seems to me that Sage could use the second tuner to start buffering the next file earlier (before the first file is done), and then playback could be seamless. Even without a second tuner, it seems like the video file could be circularly written & read to prevent this issue. If you hit record, then it would stop being circular.

Sage will do this automatically. Add padding at both ends of all recordings (using the recpadding import will save time!) and make sure that the "Remove padding on back-to-back favourites" setting is turned off. Then any start stutters are in the padding anyway...
