v6 extender license invalid?
I just bought v6 (not an upgrade) and 2 media extender licenses. I registered the v6 license with no problem. When I try to register the media extender licenses, it says that they are either duplicate or invalid.
I emailed support@sagetv.com, but I am having company for the holiday and I am greatly hoping someone here might have something for me to try quickly. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

Thanks for the reply. I replaced the exe file and it did allow me to enter the license keys, but my MVPs still show trial on them.
It seems that it is a problem with 6.0.18. Perhaps I should downgrade to 6.0.17 or lower. Thoughts? Are all settings in the sage.properties file so I can just back that up and replace after installing a lower version?

Sounds like it is the same problem the other user had. And with Sage being closed for the holiday weekend, it does sound like downgrading to 6.0.17 may help.
I don't know if there is anything in sage.properties that is 6.0.18 specific, but if there was a problem, you could just rebuild your .properties files. That shouldn't be too hard. The more important question is, is a 6.0.18 wiz.bin file able to be used in 6.0.17? It may or may not be, but my guess is not. The wiz.bin file is the important file in your system. IT has all your recording info, your favorites, and watched info. But if you just built your system, then the info in your wiz.bin may not be that important, and you could just start over with a new wiz.bin.

You're right, the wiz.bin doesn't matter much to me. The properties files doesn't either. It's a brand new install.
I tried versions all the way back to 6.0.16. If I use any version other than 6.0.18, it won't accept the core SageTV license key. If I ESC out of that one and enter the extender license it still gives the same error of duplicate or invalid key for the extender licenses. In a more frantic effort to try to get this to work before company shows tomorrow, I even tested using a friend's key just to see if it would even take that one, but it gives me the same error with the keys that are definitely working on a different system. So, it doesn't seem to be a problem with the keys at all. Very strange. I'm running out of ideas to try and it sure would be nice to have the family not need to see the word trial bouncing around during their visit. Naturally, I have already recabled and removed equipment, etc so I am completely reliant on SageTV at this point. Everything worked so well during the trial I figured adding a few license keys would be the easiest thing in the world...Wrong. -=O) Any ideas?

You've got me stuck. I'm not sure where the problem is. Sounds like you need some Sage support. Unfortunately you probably won't get any until Tuesday at the earliest. And that won't help you very much.
If it were me, I'd uninstall Sage completely and try to duplicate my friend's setup for the holiday until I got some support. What version key did he have? Set up Sage with V5 and and register the extenders, and maybe then upgrade to a V6 version. It isn't exactly legit, but it would get you past tommorrow. edit: You may need to unregister the SageTV key you already have installed by running the REGISTER command on your SageTV executable. Look at appendix D of the manual, http://download.sage.tv/SageTV_Manual.pdf , for more info.

Just wanted to give you an update after hearing back from SageTV Support. As it turns out all you have to do is run SageTV as an application instead of running it as a service which I was doing.
Will be fixed in 6.0.19 released in a few days. Thanks again for the help!
