Dedicated capture drives and NASlite

I was using NASlite with a single capture drive before. Great performance BUT choppy video/dropped frames due to recording multiple streams at the same time. I then switched back to a local drive on the SageTV server. No more choppy video BUT SageTV performance (menu selections, etc.) get's slower and slower as the drive becomes heavily fragmented. I figure the nicest setup would be NASlite with a dedicated drive per encoder. Has anyone done it successfully before?
