Requests for SageMC STV

Hi all,
Threre are a few things I wuold love to be added to the SageMC169 STV:

1. Support for whellmouse on the main menu - easily done with adding listener for pageup/pagedown, to act the same as UP/Down keys do

2. Bring in the NTE support from the default stv, to the My Videos section.
Why should we use search which opens a new dialog, instead of filtering on the spot like the default stv does?

3. oreder the videos by date - I download many many many new things, and usually see them, but movies are left behind, I do not catalog evrything, and I tend to forget what I have downloaded recently.
sorting by date for the video files (imported files) would work great for me so I can see what I have downloaded lateley and view it, or catalog it, without the need to first download it to a certain dir... and then move it around (I am lazy).

any thoughts?

P.S.
I can create an STVI fot this, but if was inside the main STV it would be better. did I mention I was lazy?

Well, I actually use the current page up/down functionality all the time on my remote (and on the keyboard) to easily go to the first/last menu item, and there is no way I would drop that. But you might be able to convince me to make this configurable

Sure, this is nice stuff, and will eventually come to SageMC too, but I won't make any promises about the time

I'll have a look at this, but I think this would probably only work for the Genre and Group views, but not for the File System view...

I have modified some of the widgets on the main menu so that a mouse click will be able to select all the menus (without loosing focus)

would you be willing to encorparate this into the stv, for those of us who love a mouse?

Cool.

I've been meaning to post for a while to request that the interface be made clickable. WAF for sageMC is 110% when it's being used on the main box in the lounge which has a remote, but drops to near zero when it's run remotely on a pc with mouse and keyboard because (unless I've missed something) you have to know the keyboard shortcuts to drive it.

Would it be possible to add an option for clickable transport controls (as has been done in the music screen) on the video playback screen? Back buttons for sub menus would also be nice so that you can get around the interface without keyboard shortcuts.

Mick.

Mick.
I second that...
also want/need the option to left click on the mouse on the video screen, and show/hide the transport (like in regular stv).
(Please, Please).

Any news about getting the regex NTE into sagemc?

I started using it because the toolbar for it, is now out and is gr8. But I stopped because i miss the new NTE with reg exp. its the best new introduced thing.

I would also like to be able to sort the files by date, and in file view, view all the files, and not have to go into dirs to see all my files.

Is it on the agenda anywhere for SageMC?

Thanks,
Alon24

It's certainly on the agenda, but to be honest, not really on the top of the list. Maybe someone with more time on his hands could cook up an import for this...

Feature Request

First post to SageMC world, many thanks to Dirk and Friends

Request
The ability to have multiple Dynamic-Menus.
In addition to Internal Menus different Dynamic-Menu.xml files could be assigned to the Custom Menu buttons.

SageMC is like a Easter egg hunt, if you hunt long enough you can usually find the feature you want.

DVD profiler integration
Smooth FFW/RWD option
Netflix integration(with Watch Now)
Improved RSS New Feed/Ticker

These are just some of the things that I feel would be great to have integrated/improved.

I thought all the things you listed already there and work...well, at least they do for me except for the "netflix" part.

That's core functionality, nothing the STV could achieve

This would have to be implemented by someone else as an import, I do not have any interest in Netflix

On the todo list, just lacking time...

Dirk,

1. On the Recorded TV screen, if there is more than one show recorded, it is nicely grouped on the screen, and "More" displays. Could you add the "number of more" to the display? So if I have 5 Modern Marvels episodes, it would simply display "5 more" instead of just "More". Or maybe a more intuitive wording would be "5 shows" or some such.

2. Also, I swear I saw somewhere the optional "Disk bar" at the top of the SageMC screen display a background indicator in colors (green, yellow, red) indicating the space available, space used, and space needed for recording. Mine only shows the text and a plain blue background. (I'm using the MCE theme.)

(BTW, I'm LOVING SageMC!)

Support for 2.4 seems to be on it's way out. I'm not sure when, but since they are merging data in from 2.4 into 3.0's database this week, I can only assume 2.4 is not long for the world.

Thanks,
Mike

The smooth FFW/RWD import doesn't work at all for me, I know I can't be the only one. Would be great if this were an option within the STV itself, rather than yet another import.
The DVD profile is simply a wish that something more robust could be done, ala My Movies...
The Netflix thing is something that would be a killer part of any STV, yet nothing has been done to the Netflix import.
I guess I just prefer having more built into the actual STV, instead of using yet another import...

I think there is a conscious effort being made to minimize bloat in the main STV as much as possible. As it is, it is already about 5MB in size.

Aloha,
Mike
