Ok, now I have a new problem with this. If put sage to sleep, it goes to the system tray as I have it set to do. Everything is fine, I can launch it from there.

If the system goes into standy, sometimes on wake Sage will be in a minimized window. Ugh.

So I can't leave sage on, it will minimize, I can't put it to sleep, it will minimize. All I can do is quit Sage entirely, which is fine since I run service but it gives me a long start up. Leaving the PC on is not option, it rarely records every day, and is often not in use for 1-2 days at a time.

my problem is that one of my backup programs seems to cause sage to lose focus in FSE mode overnight, and the next morning, it is minimized. I set the disable fse on lost focus property to false, but it still happened. Therefore, I cannot use FSE as I need to use the mouse just to get sagetv back to fullscreen. When FSE is disabled, it never exhibits this problem. Don't know if we are experiencing the same issue?

Did you ever get this fixed? The issue with sage being minimized on return from standby? Does disable_fse_on_focus_lost=false fix it or does it notg matter?

Thx
Mike

Actually, with version 6.1 I haven't had any real problems, I programmed my remote to put Sage to sleep in the tray when I turn off my TV, and to "Wake" the PC if it is asleep and to also "Wake" Sage, it has been working great for me, occasionally it will freeze but for the most part it has been running pretty solid.

I have had this problem with both of my clients. Just did the "disable_fse_on_focus_lost=false" fix, and IT FIXED IT!

However, through this effort, I had a great revelation:

After I boot my computer, I have smooth playback on HD sources (recordings).

If I go to OS Standby, then Resume, ALL OF MY PLAYBACK ON HD MATERIAL IS CHOPPY! I have been fighting this for the past 4 months, waiting for the final new release. It is like there are frames missing...picture is sharp, but anything moving jumps at what appears to be a very low framerate. The sometimes, great, sometimes choppy was confusing and frustrating.

This happens identically on both computers.

The great news, is that I can finally deploy this system for my family, despite the hassle of rebooting.

Now to track down the problem. Any hints for debugging suggestions would be appreciated. Here are some hypotheses:

1. Video Card 6600GT is resuming in a funky state (but dont have an alternate card to find out)

2. nVidia driver is resuming in a funky state

3. OS is resuming in a funky state

Here are the systems:
