SageTVService.exe priority setting
Does anyone have a clean answer to setting the service to run in something above "normal" priority? Setting the priority in task manager doesn't work. Even if it did, wouldn't I have to do this every time I restarted the service?
I tried running the service via FireDaemon, rather than the SageTVServiceControl, so that I would have control over settings like priority. However, I haven't had any luck getting the service to run that way. It just starts, never shows it using the proper amount of memory (1,300K vs. 100,000K), yet having the requested higher priority, then shuts down. Either I'm missing some detail in the FireDaemon service config, or the SageTVServiceControl does more than just set up SageTVService.exe to run as a service.?. It would be cool if SageTVServiceControl was built to incorperate a priority level control. I see some older posts that talk about using apps to change the service priority once it's running, but that doesn't seem like the cleanest way to do things. Any suggestions?

Thanks Gerr,
Yes, I had read that post, and that's what I was referring to when asking about a "clean" way to set priority. Last night I installed that utility "priority.exe", and made a batch file to call it, setting SageTVService.exe to "above normal", as well as ComSkip's java.exe and wrapper.exe to low priority. I secheduled the batch file to be run hourly via Scheduled Tasks, so that if the server is restarted, the services would get their priority reset to where I want them. This isn't the clean answer I was looking for, but so far it's accomplishing what I need. My MVP menu doesn't bog down now while ComSkip is searching for recordings to process. If anyone ever comes up with a way to simply set the SageTVService priority as part of the service startup (like FireDaemon does with other services), please let me know!
