Sage clock 6 hours ahead
I'm running the SageTV v6 beta on a Vista RTM machine. The clock setting in SageTV is 6 hours faster than the system clock, which is the correct time.
How do I get the SageTV clock to match or synchronize to the system clock? |

Have you verified that the time zone setting is correct on your machine?

Yes, I've done all the obvious things.
I tried changing the time zone from Central US/Canada (I'm located in the central zone - Madison, WI) to something else, and the time doesn't change in SageTV. I do not have the 'Sync System Clock with SageTV Server' enabled because my system clock is set to automatically synchronize with an Internet time server so I don't sync to another. Actually, I tried it both ways and it doesn't make any difference. I wonder if Vista handles date & time differently. Last edited by GreggP; 12-12-2006 at 07:58 AM. |

In my programs list (from the Control Panel) it now shows that I have both versions 1.4.2_11 and 6 installed. I don't know the difference between 'Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE' and 'Java SE Runtime Environment'. Their naming and version numbering is a bit confusing. You wouldn't happen to know if I can uninstall v1.4.2_11? I hate keeping any redundant or unnecessary software on my system. Thanks again.

You can tell your system which Java to use by going to Control Panel->Java->Java Tab and checking which one should be referrenced. That's how I've juggled the JRE around before.

In case anyone else needs to find it go here: Java 6 SE Runtime Accept the agreement and download the first one under Windows. It's the full runtime. Gerry

After looking at the Java Control Panel, I can now see that after installing Java SE Runtime Environment 6, I am now running v1.6.
Thanks, Gregg

Just wanted to say THANKS! This solved a Sage problem as well as the irritating context switches for Aero in other java applications.
FYI, Sage TV is my third media center package. I went from MCE to Beyond TV, and now I'm going to give Sage a serious go. BTV is a fine product overall but their development is going in the wrong direction, imo. |
