questions on video conversion

I love this convert function in Sage 6.....

Need some help understanding different results...

My old file was

MPEG - PS [Mpeg2 - video 4:3 480i @ 29.97 fps] size 1.35GB

My converted file is (converted using MPEG4 in AVI - High Quality)

AVI [Mpeg4 - video 4:3 480p @ 30 fps] size 741.71 MB

I understand mpeg2 vs mpeg4 and Mpeg vs. avi...

but the 480i vs the 480P....that's what I need help with..I assume it interlaced vs. progressive. any thing I should be concerned about the difference?

Also, how is this vs the conversion setting of MPEG4 in AVI - Good Quality or the conversion setting MPEG4 deinterlaced in AVI - High quality.

Thanks in advance,

Gary Ellis
