ACT-IR200L Doesn't transmit.
I thought I was the luckiest man in the world last night:
Just on a whim I pulled out an old IR transceiver I've had kicking around for a few years from a Sharp Zaurus. The model is Sharp CE-IR5. Heck if it isn't the exact sam product as the Actisys ACT-IR200L. At least that's what every Google hit says. E.g.: http://www.actisys.com/price.html "(ACT-IR200L = Sharp CE-IR5)" So I trained it to operate my SAT receiver. SageTV seems to detect the device fine and as far as I can tell, it learns the IR codes fine. However, I'm pretty sure the device is not transmitting data when I switch channels, etc. I have tested this using an IrMan IR receiver in training mode with other software. Nothing shows up at all. Questions: 1. Is this a unique problem? 2. Am I totally wrong about the compatibility of the device? 3. Is there any other way to test the tranmission of the device, outside of Sage? 4. I thought I read about a Girder plugin that works with the IR200L and Sage. I can't find the link anywhere. Can someone point this out to me? Thanks in A. |

Followup:
I finally said screwit and bought an actual IR200L on Ebay and it works fine now. No idea why the CE-IR5 didn't work, since the two devices are clearly identical, but whetever. Very happy now: why dwell? ;^) I would like to point out to any Canucks that care: the IR settings included with Sage for the standard Dishnet receiver work for an ExpressVU 3100 receiver. |
