importing stvi/xml question
I'm new to the sage scene and was trying to setup the dvdburner import but ran into some problems. I downloaded/ran the SageMC installer from the downloads section and switched the current STV over to sageMC_16x9. I then copied the files from the dvdburner import download into the correct directories.
When i try to import the dvdburner STVi, it is not listed in the detailed setup\advanced\import stvi menu. Infact, there are no STVi's or xml files listed at all, even though I verified that I was browsing to the correct directory with the STVi in it. I can only see STV files. I am at a loss as to what I have mucked up, any help would be appreciated. |

The problem is that no stvi's are listed in the menu when i browse to the correct directory, not that I don't know the name of the file. i know that the stvi file is in the directory i am looking at (i checked 10 times), but it is not viewable in the sage menu, so i cant select it to import it.

if you are using SageMC as your UI, you will not see any .stvi files listed in the menu at all. SageMC uses .xml as its import format.
Are you using the latest SageMC version? If you are using SageV5, then it is SageMC16x9 for SageTV 5.x (Build v6.13a) or if it is SageV6, then it is SageMC16x9 for SageTV 6.x (Build v6.3.0). Are you seeing any .xml files when you attempt to import? You should bee seeing your original SageTV3.xml and SageMC_169.xml files. If not, then it sounds like there may be a problem. Try to load your original SageTV3.xml as the main UI, load sagetv application package. One that is loaded, any .stvi files should be loadable as an import. Quote:

I am using sageMC v6.13a for sagetv 5.x
yes, all of my import files are in the default directory. when i have the the default stv loaded, i can see stvi's in the menu, but no xml's when i have sageMC stv loaded, i can see only stv's in the menu. i can never see any xml's in the menu, even though i KNOW they are in the directory the menu is browsing to. |

STV=...\\SageTV\\SageTV\\STVs\\SageTV3\\SageMC_169.stv If it shows SageMC_169.stv instead of SageMC_169.xml, shut down the UI, change the property to the correct value (SageMC_169.xml), and restart. Dirk |

Thanks for the advice. Consider those STV's deleted.
