EPG will not connect to server in setup wizard

HI,

Im using Sage TV 5 and im having problems getting the SageTV to download the EPG data. Im using the setup wizard to configure the Video source. After entering my zip code and pressing continue to setup my EPG source I get the following error:

"there was an error connecting to the sagetc server. please be sure your internet connection is established and that you have entered the correct zip postal code"

I have windows firewall turned OFF. I do have I-net connection as I can browse the internet. Here is a copy of my sage.properties file that might help!

I have also tried XMLTV and Zap2IT (??) with no success. And yes I did change the epg plugin section on the properties file for each plugin.. PLEASE HELP!!! This is the last thing i have to get working before this is completed!!

-TIA

Are you sure there is no type of firewall that is active? Port 7760 is needed for EPG access, if by some chance there is a firewall. Having that blocked would cause the problem. I just configured a dummy source w/a new provider, so the EPG server is still alive.

all firewalls are turned off. I have enable port forwarding on 7760 (tcp and udp) on my router. I have even turned off my routers firewall altogether and still no go...

Did you do the port forwarding before or after you had the problem? I don't know if it would affect things much, but you shouldn't have to forward that port.

The fact that none of the other EPG plugins get any results still seems to suggest that SageTV isn't allowed outside your network. But, if there are no firewalls or anything else running that could block internet access, I don't know what would cause it.

You could try setting up SageTV on another PC to see if it can get EPG data -- you can configure a dummy source w/o a tuner using the info here: Running SageTV without PVR source.

I'm also told that the lines in the attached file below can be used to set up a dummy source. Close SageTV and add those lines to sage.properties.
