Pentium4 D 3.0GHz or Pentium4 3.2GHz?

I currently have two systems and will get rid of on. My SageTV Box runs on a Pentium 4 3.0GHz. However, I also own a Pentium 4 D (Dual Core) 3.0GHz.

I use SageTV mainly to record and playback HDTV, so it's important to get the most power out of my system.

Which one would be better for SageTV? More GHz or Dual Core?

If you plan to run comskip or any background transcoding apps I would suggest using the dual core. Otherwise, honestly, at 3 Ghz you won't notice much of a difference.

My main server is a 3.02 Celeron and it performs as a client, server as well as comskip without even a hiccup. My first server was a 1.4 celeron. So whichever you choose, you would have to beat it hard to notice much of a performance difference.

The Pentium D would be the one to keep since it would probably be better at playing h.264 files if you are going to need to play those.

So the H.264 codec takes advantage of the Dual Core? Is there any application withing Sage which would benefit from the additional 0.2GHz instead of the Dual Core?
