Trying to get away from MCE

Currently using mce2005 and have the mce remote and want to get into sage. I'm having some trouble with the ir blaster to control my stb. Anyone have a good fix with this problem. Also as soon as sagetv starts it keeps constantly recording no matter have many times I stop it anything on this would be great. Thanx All.

Others would know more about this, but check out the MCE remote links in this forum's sticky: Information Resources for Remotes, Receivers, and IR Blasters.

Use the Options command (Escape, Ctrl+O) on almost any menu to adjust the Video Options Menu and set "Display Video on Menus" to something other than Always. And/or, check Detailed Setup -> General -> Intelligent Recording -- if that is on, it will record quite a bit on its own.

Also, since you are new to sage some folks don;t realize that anytime you are watching "live tv" it is recording, and even if you exit to the menu whatever you were jsut watching continues to record in the background and you will notice the record icon on. Don't worry about it, thats just how it works.. it records alot. Putting Sage in standby then reoping will stop the live tv constant recording if it bothers you.

Welcome to Sage! I am sure it beats the pants off of MCE for PVR functions.

Or you can just press the stop button.
