If so, then it'll save me the trouble of researching the custom4/custom5 thing I keep hearing about.

You just map custom4 and 5 to a button on the remote just like you would for any other command in Sage like FF/RW, stop, play, etc...

JREkiwi,
Cool release. Thanks for picking this up...I haven't been very good on keeping up with the edl comskip stuff since the baby came. I can't wait to try out Sage6 and your new comskip plugin.

Can't get it to work in v6.018.118

[EDIT]
Well of course, shortly after posting I found the problem... I had managed to create second JAR and STVs folders - probably from unzipping at the wrong folder level. It works now.
---------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for JREkiwi for making this import available but I have installed it and Sage (v6.018.118) still appears to not recognize the .txt files generated by ShowAnalyzer.

In the Detailed Setup there is no option to Enable any comskip features - should there be? Are there any other options that have to be setup to enable Sage to see the .txt files?

After downloading the latest version of the import and extracting the files to the appropriate folders, I ran Sage and loaded the import from the Detailed Setup>Advanced menu. I also shutdown Sage and the restarted it. Still no indication of commercials in the playback bar.

Thanks for any help.

Les

A quick request - fairly insignificant, so take with a grain.

Ability to NOT display the "CS" tag. Alternatively (better even), show only a "CS" tag with a slash through it if the program HAS NOT been skipped.

My wife is not so happy that almost every single show has this tag. As almost all do, this loses meaning...and looks too much like "don't like."

Are these thoughts echoed? Anyone?

I'll have a look.

Anything else need tweaking?

I agree with the lack of a CS tag or a CS with a slash through it. I've considered hunting for the icon and either deleting it or replacing it with an empty one.

I kind of like having it there. It lets me know that everything is working fine with comskip and if its not there, I know I might have a hung process or something. If it is there, everything is right in the world.

New Version 1.2.3

- Option to Enable/Disable Toxmox marker icons for airings (1.2.3)
- Option to Enable/Disable marker icons for airings without comskip files (1.2.3)

I've included an ugly hack of the Comskip Marker Icon with a slash through it (toxnocssm.png). Anyone is more than welcome to come up with something nicer.

If you are desperate for different icons you could either overwrite toxcssm.png and toxnocssm.png or there is now some properties settings

commercial_comskip_icon=toxcssm.png
commercial_no_comskip_icon=toxnocssm.png

John

I'm not getting any commercials marked on the timeline though I do see the comskip icon if SA has done it's thing. Sage 6.0.18, Dirmon and SA are all installed on my server. There is one recording drive for Sage and it is the local drive D:\SageTV but is referenced by all Sage systems as \\Sageserver\SageTV. SageClient 6.0.18 and this import are installed on a client system.

I've checked and rechecked that the import was unzipped to the correct location and I've tried reverting back to the default STV, deleting C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\STVs\SageTV3\SageTV3-1.xml and then reimporting but no luck so far. I also installed yesterday's release with the same results.

Scott

edit: Oh, and I have SA set to make .edl files, they are being created and they do have commercials segments in them.

Scott, If your getting the comskip icon, then it probably means the the import is working and that your paths are OK. Can you check in Detailed Setup/Customize/Comskip Playback Options and try changing the setting for Marker Density

Changing the marker density from transparent to solid had no effect.

Here's the contents of one of the .edl files in case there's a problem with that:

732.432 882.115 0
1262.46 1484.85 0
1935.9 2131.1 0
2788.46 3000.3 0
3241.27 3353.15 0
3599.37 3599.37 0

I'm also going to try setting SA to output .txt files and see if there is any change.

Hmm, I just looked and somehow my recording directory in Sage had changed to d:\SageTV instead of the UNC path. I've always used UNC paths so I don't know how that happened but I'm sure that was why I wasn't seeing the timeline markers. I won't know for sure until I get some new recordings since all the current ones have the local path in the recording details.

No real data or detail as to 'why', but this version doesn't work for me. Worse, it doesn't even seem to import. I've reverted back to 1.2.2 in the mean time.

In 1.2.3, I extracted (and overwrote) the JAR file and the STV file. When I imported it in a flachbar bunch, it didn't seem to import successfully. I reinstalled the 1.2.2 JAR/STV files, and they imported right.

I don't know if the new JAR file or the new STV file is the issue, but don't have the time to play. Can do later if there is something in particular you'd like me to try. Just thought you should know.

Thanks!

Hi Toongal, My bad. Forgot to test for version 5. I've replaced the download with one that should work for you.

That did it

I still can't figure out how I entered a local path for my recording directory. I've been using Sage since 1.4 and have always used UNC paths.

Scott, Thanks for letting me know, I should probably look through the code to see why you were getting icons displayed. It shouldn't really show icons if there isn't a file it can use for skipping.

It was on your client and not just the server that you were seeing the icons?

Yes, just on the client. I don't put any imports at all on my dedicated Sage server since I only use it for recording.

Like I said earlier I somehow set the Sage recording directory to D:\SageTV instead of the UNC path but there were no drive mappings on any of the systems. The client also has a D:\ drive but there's nothing on it relating to Sage so I have no idea how it could display the icons properly (or not display them if SA had not run on the show yet.)
