You could try enabling "Pause playback before Skipping" in Setup -> Detailed Setup -> Customize -> Comskip Playback Options.

You might be overloading your server computer - either your CPU or your hard drive throughput.

If you kill your comskip process the stutter will go away.

You might try defragging your Sage storage drive.

That didn't work. The audio still comes up garbled after the skip.

I don't think it has anything to do with my server. It's an X2 4200 with SATA hard drives. ShowAnalyzer doesn't use that much CPU while its running. Even when I've got all 4 tuners recording. I was having issues when I had two ShowAnalyzer processes running but I've scaled it back to one.

Enable/Disable from single remote command

JREkiwi,

Is there a way to enable/disable auto comskip from a single remote command? There are times (like when my kids are watching shows) I want enable autoskip, but others I like to have control?

BTW, thanks for the time and effort you put into this.....it really is a great addition to Sage.

Michael

Michael, not at the moment, but I've been meaning to do that.

Thanks - Custom2 Enable/Disable

John,

Thanks for adding the Custom2 capability to enable and disable, it is working exactly as I had hoped!!!

One note, not sure if it was me or not, but when I tried to import with ComSkip already imported, it seemed to just freeze and never finish creating the new xml file. I re-imported to a fresh xml (without Comskip ever being imported) and it worked fine.

Thanks again!!!

No, it's not just you. I've never spent the time making it re-importable.

I have tried several times to install this. I cannot get the menu to show Burn to DVD. I must be doing something wrong but I have followed all the instructions. Any help would be appreciated.

Even following the instructions correctly will not get you a Burn to DVD menu in this import.

Maybe you're in the wrong thread?

Does this work in SageMC? I wasn't sure if it can be installed and setup in default SageTV then switch to SageMC afterward.

I am having some diffculty trying to figure out what is needed and I downloaded the comskip but can't figure where it suppose to go or what directory it goes to and now to link it with Comskip Playback.

Is there a wiki on installing and setting up this module?

Thank you
Bill

This is NOT needed for SageMC. Put the comskip.exe into the SageTV where sagetv.exe exists. Also look at using comskip monitor or Showanalyzer with Dirmon2 for alternate solutions.

Thank for the reply!

I will look into the other comskip monitors and what would you recommend?

$10 for Showanalyzer and worth it. I'm using the latest comskip and Comskip Monitor. Comskip Monitor is a little easier to setup than Showanlayzer and Dirmon. And for me it seems to work better on the HD material. There used to be a tutorial for Showanlyzer and Dirmon but I can't find the link.
