After wiping the JAR folder and doing a reinstall my problems are fixed. Not sure what it was as I have the same pluging JAR files as before and had reinstalled Sage several time. Must have been one that was old that didn't get replaced or something. I still have a refresh issue when installing an STVI or changing the STV but I think that is Sage related. Thanks

John

I'm trying to find a button to manually run ComSkip on a show but can't seem to find it. Where should this option be?

Thanks!

Edit: Found it in the options menu for the show I'm CURRENTLY watching but I can't seem to find it for a show I've already recorded.

As long as it's enabled in Setup -> Detailed Setup -> Customize -> Comskip Playback Options -> Manual Comskip Options it should be showing up in the Options menu of any .mpg or .ts file that does not already have comskip files. Is there a Delete Comskip Files button on the options menu for a video that has comskip files?
What version of SageTV are you running?
What version of the import are you using?

John

I'm using Sage 6.1 and ComSkip v1.4.4 which I got from here (http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/down...o=file&id=154).

I have 3 files which recorded yesterday that I'm not sure how to run ComSkip on again. The new recording I have now gives me the option so maybe everything is working right.

Figured out what my problem was. The ComSkip button doesn't show up unless the file is an .mpg (had I not quickly read your initial msg JRE, I would have seen the part where you mentioned the .mpg file).

Does ComSkip work on .avi files or am I screwed after I've converted from .mpg to .avi?

Comskip doesn't. I'm not sure about Showanalyzer

Khris,

ComSkip only processes .MPG files. If you are using ComSkip Monitor you must add .avi as a "related" file type so it does not delete the .edl files when the .mpg gets converted to .avi. Hopefully you did not lose too many .edl files: Been there, done that.

Luckily (or by fluke I guess), I added the .avi extension to the ComSkip Monitor in the hopes that it would create skips for the already compressed .avi files that I have.

I guess it's what I needed to do anyway though!

Thanks!

John,

I am having the problem with the missing Comskip button on the latest beta6.2.6 and Comskip 1.4.4. I have reinstalled several times and made sure to copy the JAR back each time before restarting Sage. It has always worked in previous betas but disappeared with this one. The button I am refering to is when you click on a Recording, you can Create Comskip file or Delete Comskip file. I use it when something is recording and I want to kick off a manual comskip. Any thoughts? I have uploaded my Default STV with only the Comskip plugin installed.

John, obviously you need 1.4.5, which I forgot to upload.

It's now up on the download site

(1.4.5)
- Support for SageTV 6.2.6 and hopefully fixed for future changes

No problem! I just thought it was something I had done even though that is never the case

No idea if it works on v6.2.6, but the comskip blocks seem to fail on my v5. It worked for v1.4.4 (and I don't have a backup *sigh*) but not for v1.4.5. No symptoms to share, other than the edl files exist as always and no sign that the STV has comskip blocks.

Any fixes, changes, or updates would be greatly appreciated. Short of that, v1.4.4 would be appreciated too.

Thanks in advance!

I can't get it to fail on the V5 STV's I have.
If you could post your STV with 1.4.5 imported I can have a look at what didn't work.

Here's a couple of old versions that will hopefully get you going in the interim.

Thanks for the info! Here's some feedback:

- reinstalled v1.4.4 and everything worked well
- reinstalled v1.4.5 and everything failed again
- installed the old JAR file from v1.4.4 into v1.4.5 and it worked

Don't know why it didn't work as a straight v1.4.5 installation, but all is well that ends well. Thanks again for the quick response.

What java version are you running?

I will change the JAR in the 1.4.5 download back to the one from 1.4.4

Same as me. The new JAR is the one that flachbar included in SageMC 6.3.3c, so I'll see if he has any ideas as to why it's not working in V5.

I'll change the JAR back to the older one in my other imports.

I appologize if this has been said before. I'm having a problem with this plugin on my MVP when watching transcoded HD content with DD audio. I'm now running 6.2.7 with the latest Comskip add-on. My MVP is hooked to my receiver with a S/PDIF connection so I actually do get the full DD audio.

My problem is that when the comskip happens the audio comes back garbled. Stopping and restarting playback or doing a FF then REW fixes the audio but why is this happening at all?

Anyone else having this issue with this add-on? Any help would be great.
