Just a word of caution and a question.
I found that the d10-100 was one of the best to use with a sage setup. So I found a lot of 10 on ebay. The seller stated they had never been activated, but had no access cards. Directtv said I could transfer my cards from my existing receivers since they were not activated. Turns out they had been activated previously by customers who were in default. The receivers were worthless as none could be activated due the accounts being in default. This guy is from arlington texas and has many different user accounts at ebay. Now for the question.. Is there any receiver that can be ordered new for directtv that has serial control. I just don;t want to mess with USB-UIRT, nor buying any used equipment on ebay or the likes. Thanks and be careful on ebay if you order one of these. |

I think you can get d10-100s directly from directv. I think this stb is also sold in retail stores such as Circuit City.

Same guy got me!! Did you manage to get your money back from him ?? Also did you report him to EBay ??
He closed the account that he used to sell me the 10 "collection account" boxes & seems to have opened several new ones. By the way I have decided to just get 4 of the latest D11 recievers that DirectTV gives out for free & purchase 4 of the USB TV Translator Adapters from... http://www.patersontech.com/ They were $40 each but I've spoken to several folks who are using them with Sage & the D11s & they say they work perfectly, so I figure its worth it.

Tbird.. I just reported him tonight and also reported his other numerous accounts. Let me know how the USB control works. I have heard many say they got it to work, but none seemed to get it to work 100%. But I don't think they were using the USB to Serial cable that you are using.
I'll get my money back one way or the other...just pisses me off on the principle of it. I don't even care about the $90. (Well not a lot anyway ![]() |

I didn't have any problems buying a used HIRD-E4 from ebay. You might want to get the serial number from the seller before you bid, and check with DirecTV to make sure it will work. Of course hindsight is 20/20.
