Is Nvidia decoder running?

I'm running purevideo on my client that's running 6.14 beta. I have set the MPEG2 video decoder filter to use nvidia video decoder and I don't see the decoder applet in the system tray...(should I see it). But if I set the filter to use nvidia post processing the applet shows up. How should this be set?

Thanks

that is a known issue. If you set the filter to DEFAULT, the applet should appear in the tray if the nvidia decoder is your windows default decoder.

If your using XP, you can check/fix your decoder order with a free program from microsoft. DECCHECK, http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

There is a bug where the Nvidia Decoder applet doesn't show up in the system tray when selecting the decoder by name. It still works though. If the Nvidia decoder is your default decoder selecting default should allow the applet to appear in the system tray. Personally I wouldn't suggest running like that other than to adjust the settings since default can change when other decoders get installed. Just seems cleaner to actually select what you want to use instead of allowing windows to decide for you.

Nvidia Post Processing is software mode where as Nvidia Decoder is hardware accelerated.

Edit: Darn I was slow.
