Not much to suggest or anyway to disagree about what is best.
Content default is the only way you'll maintain the proper aspect ratio when using source as the aspect ratio in Sage. Smart mode is the only way you'll get proper deinterlacing for your recordings. Some people experience a "flicker" bug when using smart where a frame is played out of order causing artifacts. If you experience it you have no choice but to go back to using automatic or live with it. VMR pixel adaptive is the best deinterlacing option available.
