6.0.14 VOB playback
Just checking to see if I'm missing anything. I copy the plain .VOB files from unprotected DVDs (lecture series) into my imported media folders and just play them back raw like this - for the most part this works dandy - say about %80 of them play back fine. However 1 out of 5 or so show up in the Sage client at 0 seconds long and don't play anything. My PowerDVD player works fine on all of them across the boards on the same clients I'm running Sage on.
I'd rather not have to rip these into MPEG files or the like - I just watch and delete them and it's more trouble to go through the rip process than I'm wanting to take on for this. I've tried monkeying around with the video decoder settings in sage trying every combination and the behavior is always the same. Is there some trick to making this work? thanks for any tips...

Have you tried by copying the entire DVD folder structure (Video_TS folder) into your import folders as recommended to see if it makes any difference?

Rename the .VOB to .MPG.

interesting - the MPG renaming trick seems to work - at least on the one I'm trying this morning. I wouldn't have thought of that...
thanks much.
