Wireless Bridge with Belkin N1 and Linksys WRT54G - recommendations required

I currently have a Belkin F5D7230-4 wirelessly bridged to a Linksys WRT54G running Thibor so I can get my "wireless" MVP to work at sufficient performance across my metal-heavy apartment.

I have brought the new Belkin N1 (F5D8231-4) router and would welcome comments on how to include this in my network to get the best performance.

Currently I have the Linksys as the main router in the lounge (wife has decreed cannot be moved, don't ask....) and haved wired my MVP to that. In the back room have the Sage server wired to the Belkin F5D7230-4 router with a wireless bridge between that router and the main router in the lounge.

Any recommendations on this and how to set up the N1 in wireless bridge would be appreciated.

Also any feedback on tools for testing the connection speed across the wireless bridge would be appreciated as the Belkin firmware leaves a bit to be desired in that regard.

Hmmm

I just purchased the N1 router as well. I am using it in "Access Point Mode".

I don't believe you'll have any luck setting the N1 as a bridge as I don't think it can function in this mode.

Why don't you purchase the N1 pci card (or USB card) for the sage server and move the N1 next to the Linksys. Just uplink them with an ethernet cable. the N1 is rediculous as far as distance goes. With the N1 card you can link up at 300Mbps and go as far as 1400ft. (depending on geography of course)

Hope this helps!
