Placeshifter: VMR9/Purevideo
I'm wondering if this is a bug or, by design. I cannot set placeshifter to use VMR9 mode, nor can I get it to use nvidia purevideo decoders, or AC3 for sound.
Any way I can do this? Right now it works fine, but its basicly pegging one of my CPU core's during HDTV playback (SageTVPlayer.exe). Also I'd be perfectly happy with overlay mode, I just want to use hardware video decoding, and AC3 filter for sound. Note: Im using the latest beta. |

That's one of the limitations of the Placeshifter, and what Client is for.

That's by design. Placeshifter is meant to be the portable client for use on any PC anywhere on the Internet. As such it's completely self-contained, with no reliance on particular hardware features or external decoder software.
For full playback configurability, use SageTVClient.

Hmm, thats kind of dissapointing. Im using it for PBP* (right now actually). It works ok, just the sound on the place shifter isnt anywhere near the volume of SageTV. I havent tested it yet, but I doubt it decodes 5.1 audio as well as AC3 filter.
PBP = picture by picture. |
