Video Passthrough Option?
Does Sage have a video passthough option? I'm trying to set my DVD player to pass its signal thru my PVR500's s-video port, and although it works ... Sage is still recording the playback. Sage's extra processing of the video stream is making thing a bit sluggish and the quality not quite as good as 'the real thing'.
Any suggestions? |

Why not just play a DVD on the PC?

The PC doesn't have a DVD drive. Also, the DVD player we have currently is a 5 disc DVD changer... We dig it.

The loss of quality you'll suffer by going through S-Video to a capture card will make this a fairly pointless exercise.

* As a side note, the reason for all this is so I have the option to pipe the video feed via VGA out to an old projector I have. Unfortunately, the Svideo/Composite ports on the projector are bad. The only port on it that works is the VGA. Considering the signal is going from Svideo->PC->Svideo (when going to my TV) and going from Svideo->PC->VGA when going to the projector, I'm impressed the quality is as good as it is. My only challenge now is seeing if I can get past the 1-second delay with everything. |

I am also tring to do this, I want to watch DVDs on my MVP clients.
I don't want to waste time or HD space with ripping. It may be less then desirable but as of current thats the only way Sage allows you to watch copywrited DVDs on the MVP. |
