Nielm's webserver & squid on same PC

My server is running SageTV, Skype, a caching DNS server (treewalk) and Nielm's webserver on XP Professional. In an effort to utilize this machine, I thought it would also be nice to run a windows version of the caching web proxy Squid. (Found a good one here: http://www.bofi.camelot.de/squid.htm) - The problem is that when I enable Squid, Nielm's webserver no longer functions. I have tried setting both the webserver and the squid server to different ports, but I think that something is whacked with localhost. With the squid server enabled, no machines on my LAN, or the sage host itself can connect to Nielm's webserver. As soon as I stop the squid service, I can access Nielm's webserver. Weird. I'd like to use Squid to help the web experience on my home lan, but not if it interferes with Nielm's webserver. Anyone have any ideas to get these two babies to play nice?

I don't know if this is causing the conflict with the webserver, but I've always had to set visible_hostname in squid's config file before squid would work.

Yeah, that is a must as squid complains if it doesn't have a hostname. Still digging...

I hit on the fix - the squid hostname had to be the same as the PC running Sage. I had it set up in my Linksys WRT54GS running WW-DRT with a static IP and hostname of PVR-PC. Once I renamed the Squid hostname the same (PVR-PC), all works fine.
