Looks like you need to adjust the overscan to me. It is normal for the edges of recordings to look bad. As you've learned they're normally hidden by roughly 5% overscan.

I would just like to mention again that I never managed to get the switch to work properly with profiles!

I just assigned the "Next Display" action to a hot key and use that hot key to switch displays as effortlesly as I could with the ATI 9600XT card.

Opus,
I'll have to try those again. Once I got rid of the Hauppauge 350, the system stability went up a million fold. The auto switching for aspect ratio looks promising.

Blade,
If that's true, you just saved me the hassle of trying to return the video card. What I don't understand is the top/bottom edges are perefect, but the sides are messed up. So I assumed the card was defective.

Lucas,
I had no problem with the switch display either. But I couldn't use it because the PJ, Computer, and TV, all had different resolutions and desktop settings. It would be one extra step each time I switch a display.

For the profiles, try to rename them. I found that nView Desktop Manager had problems diferentiating between similar names. Having "Desktop" and "Desktop 2" screwed things up. Also, try creating them in different order. I know it's wacky, but as soon as I reinstalled the original drivers, everything started working. Also, after saving the profile, make sure to close Desktop Manager before actually using the hotkeys.

I'm starting to think nVidia=Hauppauge 350

Lucas,
One more important thing I forgot to mention. The hotkeys for profiles don't always load, as you know. What I found out is, for my system (TV, PJ, LCD), sometimes nVidia won't load the new profile. (I know the request is being sent out, because I added sound to the Firefly profile). So I simply choose the third profile, then select the desired profile. Jumping around seems to "reset" things. And I would have to restate the success ratio is more like 40-50% for the first request, but after 2 or 3 "jumps", I can get to the desired profile. You only have 2 displays. Try re-loading the current profile, then go to the other. Or create a third profile that is a copy of the computer...

Timrob,
as I said above, I gave up on profiles because of all these issues.
I also use different resolutions for each display and by using the "Next Display" action I can switch to the PJ which is a different res.
I first had to configure(res, refresh, etc) each display in "Single Display Mode". The driver seems to remember the settings when switching to the display.
I also use powerstrip to set a custom resolution and refresh rate on the PJ.
I have a separate sagetv menu(nielm dynamic menus) for doing all this as follows:
1. Switch to TV (This runs an executable that issues the Nvidia hotkey which activates the "Switch to TV" output)
2. Switch to PJ (This runs an executable that issues the Nvidia hotkey which activates the "Switch to Next Display")
3. Enable 720p at 60Hz (This runs powerstip with the params to enable the custom res)
4. Enable 720p at 50Hz (This runs powerstip with the params to enable the custom res)

I attach an extract from my menu.xml and a sample powerstrip cmd line file on how this is done.

Hope it helps.
