SageMC 16x9 Forum?

The SageMC thread is getting so massive (120 pages) that it is getting impossible (difficult) to find informations.
Since SageMC is getting one of the major STV out there, wouldn't it be worth having a dedicated SageMC forum?
SageMC seems to have now its own galaxy with extensions, its own plugins and everything else... Would be usefull to have a better place to discuss and post issues than one unique thread here :P

Erik.

I agree. I'd be nice to separate out the issues.

It's been discussed before and shot down. The only way it would ever happen is if someone made their own forum somewhere else.

That's too bad... who/why was it shot down?
It won't hurt for Sage to just create another forum inside the customizations... I would expect they would give good support to SageMC since they don't seem to have any plan to improve the old GUI.

I would be willing to host a site. There would be some questions as in "would sageTV people allow this"?

I'd be willing to host it under it's own .com name.

I just don't get why the SageTV people would not accept to create a sub-forum under SageTV Customizations.

I would be more then happy to host a forum at missingremote.com. Nothing like having a dedicated server . Just let me know, always glad to help out the HTPC community. As well, flachbar etc could host files etc.

while i agree it would be nice to have a separate "area" for SageMC, logistically i think it would be a nightmare.....which forum do i check, which has the latest updates, do i post in both forums, all the new users-would they know about the other forum, what happens if people still post in the sage forums??....

just something to consider. I already have enought trouble keeping up on just one sage forum.

I'm on par with JUC on this: a separate forum would be a nightmare. True, an own SageMC sub-forum here would have been nice, but I respect the decision that has been made in the past with valid reasoning.

Just one thing to note: it is absolutely no problem to create a new thread for a particular SageMC problem / suggestion here in the customization forum (in fact we even encourage you to do so) instead of posting everything in the one monster thread. Just put a 'SageMC16x9" somewhere in the subject, and it will draw my attention. I think it will be much easier (especially for new SageMC users) if they find smaller, more manageable single threads in response to a search than having to wade through the hundreds of posts in the main SageMC thread.

Dirk
