Transport Stream (.ts) Playback Help
I currently use the r5000hd to record as a network encoder with Sage. The files it creates are transport steams (even though their extension is .mpg). Using the MVP/Sage 5 I got no picture or sound but no error. With MVP/Sage 6 I just get very choppy playback. Any idea on how I can get smooth playback of .ts files on the mvp?
Thanks Darin

Do these files play on your main SageTV PC?
I have a similar issue, playing .ts files on the MVP and the answer from support is that because these have to be transcoded before being played on the MVP, the SageTV server may not have enough horsepower(CPU and mem) to do it smoothly.

Just an update on this old thread. I learned that the MVP play mpg that are .ps and not .ts. The mpg files that my r5000hd network encoder plays are .ts mpg's. Had to send back the mvp as the video was extremely choppy. I incorrectly assumed that since my files had an extension of .mpg the mvp could play them
