Cable to Direct TV
My local cable company (Mediacom) is in a battle with our local Fox affilliate. Unfortunatley that means that come December 1st, they will no longer carry Fox. No Sunday football, no 'Til Death, no well....that might be all we watch on Fox. Anyway, I have also had some difficulties with some stations on our cable anyway (some of locals stink, and some of our high channels) so I have contemplated switching to dish for awhile and this may be pushing me over the edge.
I would love to be able to put 3 receivers in my basement next to my server so that I only had to use one USB UIRT, but my wife likes to throw on the local news in the morning while she gets ready on about every tv around the house so she can travel around the house and never miss any part of the news while getting ready. I tried watching live tv on multiple MVP's, but it the second tv ended up starting at the beginning of the buffer (that was started when the first MVP started watching live tv). This will not work. Any other ideas to get synched video on mvp's? I realise I could put a receiver in each room with a full sage box and have them record to the server but that would require 3 full boxes and 3 USB-UIRT's. On top of the initial expense of creating full boxes and 2 more full sage licences, I would also have to buy 3 USB UIRTS. Also, I can see a lot of missed recordings if we did this (Sage tunes an STB and someone comes along to watch live tv on that TV and changes the channel and Sage ends up recording something completely different).
Thoughts?
