ATI decoders

Hi

I have recently installed the ATI mpeg2 decoders that came with new gfx card. I figured that they will take best advantage of my hardware so I would like to use them in sagetvclient.

However I cannot select them in setup=>detailed setup=>video/audio

They appear in the Microsoft DECCHECK application.

Anybody use the ATI decoder in sage? When I trialled the NVidia pure video decoders they appeared in sage no problem

cheers
paul

See if you have Cyberlink decoders. I'm pretty sure those are the ones that the ATI uses.

That would explain it.

I already had Powerdvd 7 installed and I was wondering why there were 2 Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder (PDVD7) options in my decoder list.

cheers

Yup, Cyberlink are the ATI decoders. Although the ones I installed to use with my HDTV Wonder were called Cyberlink (ATI).

I'm curious if anybody is getting DD5.1 over SPDIF out with the PowerDVD/ATI decoders. I recently installed PowerDVD 7 to see if it would help with the video lag issues I was seeing with 1080i HD playback using PureVideo decoders (I have a Radeon x1600). Selecting the PowerDVD7 video decoder seems to solve my performance issues, but the audio decoder is only giving me 2-channel PCM. Is there a registry setting I need to change.

In the meantime I'm using the PowerDVD video decoder and the NVidia audio decoder but it occurred to me that the PowerDVD audio decoder might be preferable if I can just get it outputting DD.
