IRTrans support in sagetv?

I just switched from an Ahanix D.Vine 5 HTPC case to a Zalman HD160 HTPC case for my main client because I needed something that a standard ATX power suppy would fit in. The HD160 has built in IR/VFD that use IRTrans. Is there any internal support for IRTrans in SageTV or do I need to use girder? I'm currently using a UIRT with a Harmony remote, but it would be nice if I could use the built in IR.

hmm..looks like most people are using HIP. With the popularity of HTPC cases with built in IRTrans receivers, you would think they would build USB-UIRT style support for IRTrans into SageTV.

With V5 I've been using HIP with the IRTrans in the HD160 which works perfectly, apart from using a batch file with delays to ensure they start up in the right order.

When I installed V6 to test after a server rebuild, I noticed that the MCE Remote worked without having HIP installed. Not all buttons seemed to be working and I didn't spend anytime investigating what or why certain functions didn't work but i suspect it won't be rocket science to resolve.

It might be as simple as going to Detailed Setup -> Commands -> Remote Control Config, then selecting the MCE Remote option.

I had done that as part of the config on install. As I say I didn't dig in any further as it was done to test the beta but I'll spend some more time looking soon.

The cursor buttons worked fine but Guide/DVD/etc didn't respond.
