Possible Bug regarding manual recording quality settings
Hi,
I record many things in VCD quality and used the helpful hints from http://www.freytechnologies.com/HPquality.txt to add VCD to Sage TV. I copy&pasted the following to the properties seeker/recording_qualities/VCD=VCD,224,44100,15200000 mmc/python2_encoding/VCD=videobitrate=1520000|width=352|height=240|audiobitrate=224|outputstreamtype=11|audiosampling=44100 And until 1.4.10 everything was fine, analysis showed the following stream specs: Video : 596 Mb, 1520 Kbps, 29.970 B/s, 352*240 (4:3), MPG1 = MPEG 1 (VCD) Audio : 87 Mb, 224 Kbps, 44100 Hz, 2 Kan?le, 0x51 = Mpeg-1 audio Layer 2 After having installed 1.4.10 and updated to the latest Hauppauge drivers, encodes have the following specs: Video : 475 Mb, 1152 Kbps, 29.970 B/s, 352*240 (4:3), MPG1 = MPEG 1 (VCD) Audio : 92 Mb, 224 Kbps, 44100 Hz, 2 Kan?le, 0x51 = Mpeg-1 audio Layer 2 So, although, I set 1520 Kbps as encoding rate, encodes are now being done with just 1152 Kbps. Can anyone verify this, please? Is this sage or hauppauge related? Regards, Mambo |

I don't know if this is just a typo or not but isn't there an extra zero there. All the other examples are 7 digits long, and that first 1520... is 8 digits long. Sorry if this is wrong as I don't edit my profiles all that often, but looking at the other examples that last digit stands out.

Hmms
Seems to be a typo in the txt file, sage has on the webserver, as I did cut&paste it from there. But changing that doesnt have any affect on the recording quality at all. Hmm, I am clueless.
