USB-IURT Help please

I am using Sage 5.0
I got a file .ir from a friend which has the same receiver I use.
I installed sage and I told it to use USB and I chose the option for my receiver which appears in the options to choose for USB after I copied the file I got into sage, common ,,,etc.

The problem I have is that when I change channels within Sage it does not change anything on the receiver.

I did several searches but could not come up with a good guide on how to install a USBUIRT from scratch for Sage. Any body can point me in the right direction for a guide? Thanks.

If you go through the configuration wizard it actually walks you through setting up the USB-UIRT and has you learn the buttons on the remote you want to use for Sage. (Of course you need to install the USB-UIRT and the drivers for it.)
