SageTV - Will it work with firewire?

Hello All,
I am very intrested in Sage TV. I currently have a Scientific Atlantic 4200 HD box. I would like to use Sage TV with firewire to the SA 4200 Box. I know all the channels are unencrypted. Is anyone running SageTV via firewire? If so could you point me in the right direction on how to go about this? My provider is Cablevision.

Yup, plenty of people are running firewired-STB's on Sage. There is a mega-thread that goes into all the details.STB Firewire (IEEE-1394) Support . There is a lot of detail about the progress that went though to figure it out. If you don't want to read all that, just read the first post for the quicklinks to the condensed instruction guides.

With the SA box, you should be able to record all unencrypted digital signals via firewire, and channel change also. YOu won't be able to record your analog channels via firewire, as only the motorola boxs encode the analog channels and output them via firewire.
