Which capture card has the best dynamic range + svideo in?
Just wondering if anyone knows which capture card supported by SageRecorder has the best dynamic range -- is there any better than Happauge 250?
Reason I ask is, I was thinking of using a conventional camcorder connected to a small PC via the svideo out and SageRecorder to get much longer recording times for digital video than DV cameras usually provide, but, to do that, it means that the Happauge 250 probably will look pretty bad due to dynamic range problems... So, just wondering. |

From everything I have read, I don't think you are going to find a better card to work with Sage (that is a card based on the same conexant chipset as the pvr-250/350). You may want to try one of the USB based solutions (Yuan makes a very small usb encoder). That would enable you to use a very small pc and not be tied to one that has a pci slot.
