The inability of the product to work as advertised. What's yours?

I keep saying it but Google Video is suprisingly fun. Never really looked at YouTube or Google Video before but its a good laugh to flick through.

Native DVB support is great, especially once CI is working for DVB-S. Should be a major attraction to bring in UK users. If DVB-S2 is added (you know it makes sense!) and the whispers I've heard about new CAM software for SkyHD are true, I'll be dancing all over the shop.

I've not even tried the music, picture or video librarys yet. Going to see if Movie Trailers work next!

Non-encrypted DVD support on the MVP. Now I can watch all my home movies with out having to pass them through Auto Gordian Knot first.

1) DVD on MVP (without having to play them VOB by VOB by VOB...)
2) Video Playlist Improvements

3) Google Video

I am very pleased with how this beta works so far (enough to pay for the upgrade ). The Media interface change will take a little getting used to, but I believe it will be much better in the long run.

RE: widescreen

When I was going through several DVDs today, at least one was widescreen and it was letterboxed (black at top and bottom with width matched to screen). So I believe they are working correctly. I selected 4x3 on my TV setup though - FYI

So far, it's the watched position for imported videos being remembered.

Yep... Its working now. I could have sworn I started with it at 4:3 aspect ratio and it wasn't working. But I just changed it back to 4:3 (I have a 4:3 tv), and now I get letterboxing on DVDs and AVI's.

DVD Playback on the MVP! Without a doubt the best new feature! I love this, just setup my dvd drive as an Import directory, Unwrapped XMen3 and threw it in the drive and within a few seconds i was watching it through my MVP! Gotta love this!

Letter boxed here. I did have to go to the advanced setup and adjust the aspect ration settings though.

Right now I'm pretty pumped about the mplayer integration. That's gonna open up the door to a ton of opportunities.

I thought encrypted DVDs wouldn't work? Also, it seems the transcoder doesn't run anymore for DVDs, and it seems the CPU usage running a DVD is much less. (I am on a weakling Athlon 1800)

Oh, im sure you just left out some minor detail, like those wishing to watch their "Home Videos" on their MVP.

DVD playback on the MVP is for non-encrypted DVDs, since the DVD player used for the MVP is not able to decrypt commercial encrypted DVDs.

Yes, everyone knows there are probably secret tools to decrypt such stuff out there somewhere on the internet, but due to legal restraints, such "how-to" topics aren't allowed here. Sorry.

My favorite features of the upgrade are:

1. DVD and hard disk DVD Playback on MVP. This rocks!
2. Music interface. It's a bit more complex, but once you get it, it's really slick.
3. Photo navigantion is much better!

And probably most important to me...

4. Installing it over a v5 install was very painless. Only one installed Plugins had any issues.

I'm running a pretty basic setup with two tuners, a few Plugins, the Web interface, and one MVP. Everything works very well.

I haven't used it enough to have a favorite feature yet. The built in video conversion is very interesting to me. The quality isn't up to par with my expectations, but it was mentioned that it is customizable. If the quality can be increased without while keeping file size down that will probably be my favorite new feature.
