Recommend a Sage 6.0 friendly DVB-S Card?

Sadly, my 4 (very expensive) Nexus-S cards do not have a BDA driver so no Sage support I'm willing to setup a test box dedicated to getting DVB-S running and hopefully (soft)CAM support. DVBCore, MD-API, whatever. What would be a good quality DVB-S card to get that has a BDA driver available?

Technotrend 1500 is their older DVB-S card, available quite cheaply now. The S2-3200 is the newer DVB-S/S2 card but is in short supply at the moment and difficult to get hold of.

I'm trying to help the developers with DVB-S and CI support at the moment and thats with the TT-3200. Fingers crossed, full support shouldn't be too far off.

I would also rejoice for DVBCore/MDAPI/SoftCam support but it does seem to scare off alot of commercial companies (but not all!).

I'm considering a Twinhan but have concerns about quality. I think a TT-1500 might be a good bet. Is anyone in NA testing DVB-S with Sage 6? I've set up a test box already and a switch is on order to run my STB's plus DVB cards.

Im not running dvb-s native in sage, but I use PeterJB's MTsage plugin with a SS2 and a twinhan 102G. Im very happy with both.

Glad to hear the twinhan works OK for you. I'm considering a 1025. For me, it's MT that is the weak link. I need to run 4 instances to support all my DVB cards and it's a real hog IMHO.

OK I've taken the plunge and ordered a Twinhan 1025. I'm going to work with a developer to get Twinhan hardware going. After the basics for the popular cards are worked out there may be support for a popular API worked in

I am running MT as well, and am not extremely happy with the situation, it is a patched together setup and does not run as stable as a PVR solution should. I have to run a nightly script to shutdown/restart Mytheatre to have ANY chance of it remaining up for more than a day, and even then its a crap shoot.

But, at this point with no DVBCore/MDApi plugin support, testing native DVB-S for the NA market is pretty much a waste of time.

I am very happy with the MTSAGE plugin for Mytheatre. Native is just better in every aspect. You may want to check your setup. Mine runs flawless with 2 cards in my server. That being said, it is slow to change channels. Thats where native comes in..

Are you pulling EPG info from the sattelite?

It runs rock solid if I disable the parsing of the Dish provided EPG from the satellite, but then I have no data from the PPV, Sports, or out of area Locals. So, I am forced to enable it, run an XMLTV importer and a bunch of other complicated setups and scripts. But, the EPG parsing causes MT to have a memory leak and eventually crash.

I gave that battle up long ago. It was exciting to try for a bit, but i refuse to make watching tv a 14 step process.

I run my setup with two Twinhan 1020's (BDA Drivers). The card1 instance is set to parse EPG info and the card2 instance is set to not parse and it ran great in that in setup for many months requiring only the occasional (once sometimes twice a week) reboot.

I've had serious problems getting even one instance of MT to run stable ever since the latest batch of plugins have been released. It seems like I can't get MT to run for longer than a few minutes and / or channel changes.

Anyone else had any luck running a multicard setup with the latest set of plugins?

Anybody know if the Technotrend S2-3600 is the USB version of the S2-3200 that Mark_SS and Lucas are using?

I'm using the PCI version which DVBShop apparently have some stock of today, although only bundled with the CI addon.
