DVB-T, DVB-S with version 6

Haven't installed yet, but I intend to ASAP. Could you post here with your experience of out of the box DVB-T and DVB-S in the UK? I'm very eager to see if Sage can get hold of the Sky EPG over DVB-S and if it can record BBC HD from satellite, as that is unencrypted. Also interested in anyone getting the Freeview EPG to work over DVB-T.

DVB-S support is not quite there yet, am exchanging logs and updates with Qian to get it up and running.

DVB-T looks to be there, you just need to delete everything but your transmitter from the PredefinedScan.frq and then it will pick up all the channels fine. Its only picking up titles from the EPG at the moment but I've uploaded a ts dump so Qian can see where its going wrong.

I've reverted to my previous install so i can watch some TV but might try get DVB-T working fully a bit later this evening.

DVBT worked fine for me with all the stuff in PredefineScan.frq, scans the channels first time. Gave me all the options, picked the correct one and hey presto. I've been using this for a long time now...works a treat.

Also gave me program details as well as titles.

If it has BDA drivers, it should work no problem.

DVB-T to MVP

Is anyone viewing DVB-T via a PAL MVP ?
I get a picture that freezes from time to time and no audio on both my Hauppauge Nova-T and Freecom stick.
Both play perfectly on Sage server with sound.

Problems with DVB-T

I cannot get DVB-T to work properly (twin HVR-1300's). I select the correct area entry relating to the the "Winter hill" transmitter and it goes through the tuning process and finds some (but doesn't appear to be all channels). But then I cannot view them at all. They all come up with "No Signal" when viewed in the channel selection screen. I have manually altered the default frequencies file changing the frequencies to have 166 on the end as when I look in GB-PVR the channels are found on a 166 frequency rather than 000. But this makes no difference at all. I have also done a complete uninstall and removal of program directories and reinstall (this is a test machine not my live environment) but this does not improve things. Can tune channels easily with GB-PVR or Hauppauge application to the same frequencies. Not sure what else to try and would appreciate any ideas !!!
Thasnks

Change it back to 000s (that seems to be the best way so far with v6). Then go through again and tune (I mean change to!) one of the channels - leave it tuned on "No Signal" for a minute or two, see if it eventually picks up. A couple of my frequencies took a little while to adjust but, once tuned, worked immediately subsequently.

If no luck, post your FRQ.

I am in the same area (Winter Hill) and use a single 1300, with no editing done, all channels were found during the scan and most played first time.

A few gave the "no signal" error but after a full restart/reboot all channels appear ok, SageTV even managed to get the EPG data OTA, although it was only the program title.

There are 2 "Winter Hill" options in the list, make sure you select the top one, Bad things seem to happen with the bottom one.

Still no channels

Hi I have set frequencies back to 000's see line from "predefinedscan.frq"
"United Kingdom-North@Winter Hill" =[ (754000,8),(834000,8),(850000,8),(842000,8),(786000,8),(810000,8) {tune=1,pat=6,sdt=16} ];

but still channels will not display once tuned i've pasted in copy of "Hauppauge WinTV 88x Video Capture-0.frq" file below.

Please can somebody help, this is much closer than i've ever got with trying to get sagetv to work with DVB-T. Thanks !

Try changing your parameters to {tune=1, pat=8, sdt=18}, this gives a longer timeout and may have more success. Rescan for channels.

Thats the same as mine, except for some of the spacing the forum s/w has caused.

I am using driver 2.116.24167.0 and nvidia 92.xx but most of the 91.xx worked for me as well. I had a 5.1 beta and was using 91.33 and 47 with the 1300 without tuning issues.

Except for having to exit sage and reload after initial setup.

Thanks for help, I have tried everything above, scan for channels and can see some channels being found during scan in preview window. Once scan complete I get some of the channels in the list with a name (but this isn't always the sames as the name in the frq file ie CH1 in frq file says "BBC1" but in channel list it says "sky news". Problem is that if I now try to view any channel it always says no signal even though they showed in the scan. Changing parameters suggested "tune=1, pat=8, sdt=18" didn't make any difference.
Thanks

When you get "No Signal" do you leave it on that channel? Leave it there for a few minutes, see if it gets there eventually...

I think you'd better raise a bug report then, hopefully the Sage guys can help you...
